Marvellous recipe, now my no.1, although Isa's Chili Sin Carne is high up there, as an espresso drinker I applaud the addition of coffee.

It's funny what a bad experience can do for us regarding food, isn't it? My eldest step-son ate too much mint chocolate as a kid and got sick everywhere. 15 years later he still can't handle that flavour combo in anything.

(I must like posting comments on old posts or something, I do it all the time.)
I've never heard of chili with coffee in it but I won't be trying it. I am opposed to a bowl of chili. I also don't believe in the existence of a 'good' bowl of chili. I had an unpleasant experience with it when I was about eleven and haven't been able to eat it since.

Yes, I mean ground dark roast coffee ground for espresso.

Feel free to leave the mince out. My partner prefers it in chilli and I'm okay with it either way, so I usually throw a bit in. All a matter of opinion.

Espresso is a METHOD of preparing coffee. Presumably you mean ground coffee in the ingredients list.

I'm also not a believer in 'vegan mince'. Bean chili already has plenty of both protein and texture without.
